Accountable was borne out of the experience Matthew Serel, an experienced tech entrepreneur, and AJ Diaz, a Licensed Social Worker, had when they both embarked on their own journey towards a sober life years ago. 

Both Matt and AJ were incredibly lucky to find supportive acute treatment for their substance use disorder, however, at a certain point spending over four hours a week in therapy felt excessive.

They wanted to have someone outside peer support programs to help them stay accountable towards their goals in recovery and life without the continued time commitment and expense of intensive therapy. Unfortunately, no such service existed at the time.

We are on a mission to provide a low touch, low cost, low effort service that keeps you accountable, and gives you the opportunity to live your best life.
